Where lodges are ...

There are 182 lodges in the area supervised by the County Grand Lodge of Glasgow. These are grouped into 22 District Lodges which are listed here along with places which have Orange Halls. Indeed the area covered includes some lodges outwith the city boundary and really a Greater Glasgow description.

Cambuslang

Cowcaddens District has, in it's history, moved three times and the name is now perhaps a misnomer due to redevelopment and as it's present building is now in the Possil area of the city well away from it's original base on the edge of the city centre. This was a reflection of population moves from the central area of Glasgow. Dalmarnock District uses Bridgeton District Hall for their lodges.

No 12 District which was excellently based in their halls in Inglis Street, Dennistoun lost them due to anarson attack. GThe lodges as mentioned elsewhere now meet in Dennistoun Central Parish Church.

    NEW HALLS CREATED:

 Shettleston Pollokshaws Partick Gorbals

There were other Orange Halls during the 19th century at the Candleriggs (an early Orange HQ), in Anderston at Washington Street and other inner-city areas since relocated. The present halls at Whiteinch, Bridgeton and Kelvingrove were originally churches (Whiteinch was also the first school in the area). Southside District's former hall was also an ex-church as too was the former hall at Partick. Dalmarnock originally had an ex-Mission Hall.
